Whether you're 7 or 70, learning a musical instrument brings joy, builds confidence, sharpens the mind, and even creates friendships. My goal is to make music feel simple, doable, and most of all — fun.
You don’t need fancy software, expensive gear, or a music degree. You just need a little curiosity and a willingness to play.

My musical journey started when I was just 8 years old, blowing on a clarinet that was almost bigger than I was. I took private clarinet lessons for 10 years, and along the way, I couldn’t help but fall in love with piano, guitar, and saxophone too. In Junior High, I was honored to take first place in Southern California as Male Instrumentalist in the Maytime Band Review — a memory that still makes me smile.
By the time I reached high school, I was performing in local dance bands, marching proudly in the Hilltop High School band, and sitting in with the orchestra every chance I got. In my adult life, music never left my side — I’ve served as music director for several churches, jammed in folk groups and dance bands, and taught countless students in music stores and my own home studio.
I've also written a variety of music books for instruments like piano, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, bass guitar, banjo, and flute, all designed to make learning approachable and fun. Teaching beginners is my passion — because there's nothing quite like watching someone play their first song and realize, “Hey… I can actually do this!”
